Purpose

The Ballantrae Trust was formed in November 2017 as a company limited by guarantee (now also a charity) to benefit the community of the Ballantrae Community Council area with the following objects

The advancement of community development (including the advancement of rural regeneration) within the community
The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended
The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science

In conversation we describe this as “Supporting local businesses, encouraging tourism and developing unique events” and “Ensuring Ballantrae remains a great place to live, work and visit”.

The Trust replaced the Ballantrae Development Group which had been operating for the previous 7 years as a sub group of the Ballantrae Community Council.

The Trust’s 6 Board Directors are responsible for the strategy of the Trust.

The Trust has 181 members (at 8th June 2023).

The Trust is currently responsible for a number of projects.
