If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing base for your holiday in South West Scotland, Balkissock Lodge, set in an acre of gardens and woodlands, will provide you with a comfortable break with a touch of luxury. Views from around the property over the sea towards Ailsa Craig, Mull of Kintyre, Arran and Northern Ireland provide a spectacular backdrop to the variety of fauna and flora found in and around the garden.

A warm welcome awaits you in the large conservatory with home-baked biscuits and cakes to accompany refreshments after your journey. As well as having large ensuite bath/shower rooms, the popular Galloway and Ailsa Suites have seating areas, well stocked hostess trays, wifi access, electric blankets and TV with Freesat. The Arran Room has twin beds and is located on the ground floor near to the parking area. All rooms are completed with framed pictures of the local area taken by your hosts.

Breakfast, taken in the conservatory, is a leisurely affair with a full-Scottish consisting of local produce, home-made preserves and bread with vegetarian options. Three course evening meals are also served using home-grown and local produce depending upon availability and season.

Situated close to the Galloway Dark Sky Park, Balkissock Lodge enjoys fabulous dark skies for star gazing and its temperate climate, provided by the Gulf Stream, means a variety of plants thrive in the gardens. Guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens, patio seating area and summerhouse or relax by the log fire in the lounge on chilly evenings.

Balkissock Lodge is an ideal base for exploring all that South West Scotland has to offer such as cycling in the Galloway Forest, fishing on the river Stinchar, golfing at Turnberry Golf Club or walking the Ayrshire Coastal Path. Visit one of a number of tourist attractions including Culzean Castle, Robert Burns Centre, Rhinns of Galloway Lighthouse (Scotlandís most southerly point) or Logan Botanic Gardens. A 30 min drive will take you to the ferry port and day trips to Belfast and the Antrim Coast are popular with guests.

Howard and Cordelia look forward to welcoming you to Balkissock Lodge and hope to make your visit enjoyable, comfortable and the first of many.
