Our VIP is located in the Kings Arms Hotel, 40 Main Street, Ballantrae, KA26 0NB.


It contains leaflets, publications and other information on things to see and do in Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway. Our VIP has been recognised by VisitScotland as a “Visitor Information Partner”.

By Car

Ballantrae is on the A77 13 miles south of Girvan and 17 miles north of Stranraer.

Parking

Ballantrae has one public car park on Foreland behind the Primary School (access via Shore Road and Foreland or the Vennel). There is also plenty of parking on the grass on Foreland facing the sea, at the harbour, and on-street elsewhere. The King’s Arms Hotel, Craigiemains Home and Garden Centre, and the Medical Centre all have their own parking for people using their services.

By Train

The nearest railways stations are at Girvan and Stranraer. A regular train service connects Girvan to Glasgow and Kilmarnock via Ayr and from Stranraer to Girvan. For timetables and tickets click HERE.

By Bus

From Girvan and Stranraer : The Stagecoach bus number 358 operates a regular timetabled service between Girvan and Stranraer which passes through Ballantrae. Information regarding timetables and ticketing can be found on the Stagecoach website.
